Athlete Seminar Ft. Shane Benzie
Wednesday 26th June | 7.30-9pm | GoPerform
Our next free Athlete Seminar is for anyone with an interest in human movement and how it can be optimised to improve performance.
Shane Benzie will discuss his work with the some of the fastest runners in the world. The surfers that are taking on the biggest waves on the planet, and his work with climbers Alex Honnold and Tommy Caldwell. He will share what we can learn from their mindful approach to elite performance.
Shane Benzie is the bestselling author of ‘The Lost Art of Running. Described as the Indiana Jones of running his work as a Movement Coach and Researcher takes him to all 7 continents where he spends time with elite athletes, tribes, and indigenous peoples, focusing on how to crack the code of capturing natural human movement and turn it into human performance. Shane’s work is unique in that he takes the laboratory outside into the natural environment. These environments are often extreme including the Saharah desert, the Amazon jungle, the Arctic, the Himalayas and the world’s oceans.
Shane works with elite athletes and extreme sports people around the world researching and coaching Flow State and neuroplascticity. He works on the theory that just like the body, the mind also sits in a state of equilibrium which is constantly adapting and rejuvenating based on how we use it. He is a Keynote Speaker/Presenter for UK Sport, British Triathlon, Great Britain Diving, IPN and is a consultant for companies such as Inov-8, Coros, Vi Move and Arion where he adds the human influence to their technology.
